The legend Mr. Sachin Tendulkar is famous worldwide because he has played all the formats in cricket, that too in a classy way. That is the reason he has scored a mountainous 34,357 runs. It is only possible for him to score so many runs because he was available in all formats of cricket. If he had played only in one format of the game, then this huge, gigantic score would not have been possible. Isn’t it? “Our intention creates our reality.” This old cliché is popular everywhere in the world. This saying minimises “intention” as a shallow aim that lacks real power. Many people make claims about what they intend to do, but don’t follow through in most instances.
“Our intention creates our reality.” This old cliché is popular everywhere in the world. This saying minimises “intention” as a shallow aim that lacks real power. Many people make claims about what they intend to do, but don’t follow through in most instances.
Many traders in the world of the stock market don’t possess the belief or conviction that is required to follow through with rules and commitments in the trade, and due to this, they are lacking true intention. It essentially says that there should be an aim to do something, or else it lacks the commitment to the behaviour towards the efforts we put in. When we step back and look at why intention is so important, we will realise that without aim, if we put in any effort, we don’t get the expected result.
Trading is an underlying fierce focus based on the internal state of the individual, which is likened to the coalition of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. True intention brings the trader into action because it derives from the desire to gain something for the purpose the trader has targeted for himself. It is also important to achieve the aim; information plays a vital role. It is also important to achieve the aim; information plays a vital role. Information on past behaviours and results and information on future goals play a crucial role in trading. Another characteristic is “action”. Action is where the desire or the emotions connected to the intention are the forces that drive our goals.
According to our aim, we have to plan the behaviour of trading, our thoughts, and our emotions. Every trader should have a proper plan according to their goals and decide what type of trading he/she should do. Don’t give yourself a huge goal, as it will take a lot of time. I don’t mean to imply that you should avoid your big goal. Rather that you should start with small goals and then combine them with a bigger one. If you want to achieve a bigger target than Tendulkar, we have to perform in all types of trades, whether they are intraday, swing, or positional, so that we can achieve our bigger aim. We have to be all-rounders in trading.
If we only go for either one of the trading styles, the chances of achieving the bigger aim will be very low, i.e., if we only follow intraday, we might miss many opportunities in swing or positional trades where targets are big, or else if we only follow swing trades, we might miss many opportunities in intraday, which may hamper daily earnings. If it hampers daily earnings, it won’t meet your daily targets and, due to that, it won’t boost your daily confidence in trading. We should do all types of trading and should plan our strategy according to the respective behaviour of traders.
To achieve a big goal, we have to start with smaller ones first. Find out what is more important to you right now, and what matters most to you in the current scenario, and connect that with your trading style. The core of doing the right things habitually to get the right things is linked with the power of NOW. So decide your trading style according to the current and most important aim you want to achieve. Slowly and gradually, by achieving small gains, you will set a bigger aim, and hence you will start doing all trading styles, and the bigger aim will be completed. When this happens, your true intentions become engaged and support the manifestation of the desire. This is when you are firing on all cylinders, and that creates an edge in your trading that can make all the difference. Anytime you can identify a legitimate edge, take it.
